1976 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 custom fabrication

This 1976 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 has spent quite a lot of time in our workshops throughout a ten-year history with its current owner.

Sourced in Switzerland but now living here in the UK, the car is well known amongst the Porsche community. A highly modified example of a sought after car, we have carried out many jobs over the years, including making a custom exhaust system for the car, using a side pipe system to get a little more of that flat-six sound from the otherwise standard 3-litre engine.

Next jobs to be done here at Racing Restorations will be fitting an updated ‘Classic Retrofit’ fuse panel, repairing some rust around the front windscreen aperture, a full underbody inspection to the vulnerable sills and front pan area, fitting new suspension bushes throughout and stripping and refinishing the various suspension components at the same time.

We have earned our reputation as leading restorers of the air-cooled 911 models, specialising in the 1974-1989 impact bumper models but also working on many full-scale 964 and 993 restorations. We have an interesting 993 Carrera 4 manual body restoration and respray project waiting in the wings: more news on that later.
